Health & Safety

Work Safe - Home safe!

At Dem-Master Demolition, safety is paramount. We are unwavering in our commitment to creating a safe and healthy environment for all employees, subcontractors, and anyone impacted by our projects. This dedication is reflected in our core objectives:

  • Prioritising Safety: We invest heavily in safe work practices and systems, ensuring everyone working with or around Dem-Master operates in a secure environment.

  • Clear Responsibilities: Directors and managers hold designated safety responsibilities outlined in their job descriptions. This empowers them to develop and implement safety standards that align with our Safety Management System.

  • Balancing Safety and Success: We believe a strong safety record fosters business success. By prioritising safety, we protect our staff, our most valuable asset, and ensure our goals for client satisfaction and growth are never compromised.

  • Environmental Responsibility: We recognise the link between safety and environmental well-being. Our positive environmental policies and procedures ensure we protect the environments in which we operate.

  • Knowledge is Power: All Dem-Master personnel are thoroughly trained on legal requirements surrounding demolition operations. This ongoing training empowers them to work safely and effectively.

  • Engaging with Safety: We actively engage our workforce in safety practices. We employ various tools and techniques to communicate safety messages effectively, including:

    • Comprehensive Training & Development Programs
    • Regular Health & Safety Audits
    • Personalised Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Action Plans
    • Leadership HSE Tours
    • Internal and External Health & Safety Professionals
    • Community Liaison Officer
    • Informative Health & Safety Presentations

By prioritising these initiatives, Dem-Master Demolition demonstrates its unwavering commitment to a safe, healthy, and environmentally conscious work environment for everyone involved.

"Carlsberg doesn't do Demolition firms, but if they did ... they would be Dem-Master.  We have had the pleasure of working with Dem-Master on several significant projects over the years and we have been lucky to have a front-row seat to witness the continual improvements in safety standards throughout the group of companies.
Dem-Master has tackled some of the most complex Demolition contracts in Scotland in recent years, and yet enjoy an accident to man-hour ratio which would be the envy of any company, even in less hazardous industries.
I feel this is due to the level of planning the managerial staff put into place at an early stage in the process and the discussions held with all stakeholders including site operatives and site staff at the vital panning stage to ensure things are as accurate as possible."
