Dem-Master had fun on Friday morning volunteering at Pollok Country Park, Glasgow.

Russell and Laura spent the morning planting trees with the team from Multiplex, The Green Team (Edinburgh and Lothians) Ltd and several other companies.

Working with our Client, Multiplex and The Green team, we helped put the finishing touches to the landscaping of the newly refurbished Burrell Collection in Glasgow’s Pollok Park. Having been closed since 2016 whilst undergoing major refurbishment, the collection holds a great deal of local significance having been donated to the city by Sir William Burrell.

After their briefing, the team quickly took to work, planting a variety of tree species directly adjacent to the new building which incorporates engineered timber within its structure.

Hosted by Edinburgh-based charity, The Green Team, the group’s effort aligned with Multiplex’s ESG strategy to leave a Net Positive Biodiversity, Water and Air Quality legacy within the surrounding community.

Afforded artistic licence in the direction of the planting, by mid-morning a curvarious row of trees began to emerge. With much welcomed mild weather aiding production, by the end of the day the team had planted a grand total of 300 trees that stretched the length of the new building.

“Great to have you out - getting trees planted in the fight against climate change and in doing so supporting the work that the Green Team does to connect young people to nature, others and themselves.” The Green Team. 15th March 2022
