Selected as Demolition contractor, Dem-Master are responsible for the Demolition and Site clearance works at the former Strathclyde University, Jordanhill Campus, Southbrae Drive, Glasgow, G13 1PP.
The development will be known as Jordanhill Park and will offer a diverse range of homes which we are very much looking forward to seeing take shape in the near future.
The development of Jordanhill Park will protect and enhance greenspace within the site, retain the Category B-listed David Stow building and ensure the existing playing fields remain open and available to local community.
The works include:
• Site Mobilisation
• Site Fencing to individual phases / areas
• Removal of Asbestos Containing Materials (where identified)
• Soft Strip
• Erection of scaffold
• Deconstruction using a combination of hand Demolition and Brokk Demolition Robots
• Machine Demolition using a combination of long and standard reach Demolition rated excavators
• Excavation of floor slabs, basements, underbuild and foundations.
• Site regrading works
• Demobilisation
Once the main structures have been Demolished the area will be cleared with foundations removed and the site levelled with a capping layer of crushed material.
To increase awareness around Health & Safety matters for this site we sent Laura and Ricky along with our client to deliver a Health & Safety presentation to the neighbouring Jordanhill School.
The pupils received the presentation well and asked a lot of very good questions about Demolition.
The pupils and parents were also very grateful for the hi-viz vests which kept them safe and seen during the darker nights!
